Everyone goes through this stage in their life, a stage which is illustrated in this piece, a robot, having an epiphany. The robot has been lied to, and this is the robot’s
reaction. Hypothetically this is a metaphor for any person who is a dreamer, an optimistic person
who has illusions of a utopian world. One’s this person begins to grow and see the reality of this
world, then the painting becomes a surreal depiction of this situation.

This painting expresses the anguish, turmoil, and troublesome of finally receiving Justice throughout the world. Injustice through History, Colonization, Imperialism, Slavery, Civil Rights Movement, Capitalism, Communism and Assimilation is the focus of the concept. The painting includes subjects such as the economy through John D. Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, war through Hiroshima, Tiananmen Square, the Last Crusades, and the Holocaust. On one side I illustrate George W. Bush and on the opposing side is President Barrack Hussein Obama to demonstrate the opposites and contradiction of politics and the painting. The title integrates itself within the piece, because my personal opinion stands that even though we have at last a multi-racial president, we as a people are still in last place, there is still no progressive change…
